Each town has it's own characteristics and all have unique history from the Roman encampments to battle site and castles, birthplaces of Kings, inventors and wealthy merchants. Golf is everywhere in East Lothian with Open Championship courses and golf history from the very beginning. With a history of mining and soap making and connections to the Salem Witches. Not to forget the wonderful coastal areas with golden sand beaches and there are even to hills for the walkers and climbers, Berwick Law @ 603 FT (187 mtrs) and Traprain Law @ 725 FT (221mtrs).
