Innerwick Village

East Lothian


Innerwick is a small village in East Lothian The school, village hall, Parish Church and post office all date from circa 1780.

​​​Innerwick Castle

built by the Stewarts circa1310 it changed hands in 1398 to the Hamilton family . Due to its position it was attacked on several occasions the final assault by the Duke of Somerset in 1548 left the castle in ruins.  

Skateraw Harbour and Beach

The harbour was built was built circa 1810 it was used for the transportation coal and lime. The sea has destroyed the breakwater pier and the once deep harbour has filled with sand

Torness Power Station

​East Lothian

Torness was a nuclear Power Station which was the last of its kind. It started producing in 1988 The plant has 2 Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors with over 500 workers. There is an award winning visitor centre which has an interactive exhibition to help visitors learn about nuclear power generation. 

Tour time: approx 1.5 hours
Minimum age: Minimum age for the station tour is 7 years old

Bookings must be made at least 3 weeks in advance
You will be accompanied by a trained station guide
The tour includes the reactor viewing gallery and the turbine hall​.
